Mounting questions, answers left unsaid
Messages opened, often misread
A child of our time, a light in our eye
So much harder it is as time goes by
Emotions ignored, never addressed
Scars that won’t heal from the acid test
A stiff upper lip, an ‘I’m alright Jack’
Hides the anti social panic attack
Eyes opened by the passing of time
Even though there’s no reason or rhyme
A birth & a death take from me I’m done
‘No respect’ is the mantra. Follow, come
See for yourself, the decay, distress
We’re not to blame, although nonetheless
We’re all victims of a social mistake
Time to slow down, gently press on the brake
