When the seemingly endless day has past
And evenings languid shadows cast
Their theatre of light and dark
Mesmerising, though deeply stark.
When you seek, only sleeps endless embrace
And dreams are all you wish to chase
In slumber you remember her
The memory though, just a blur
When you recall the losses, not the gains
And all you feel are aches and pains
As numb from tired, you crave the quiet
Solitude, opposed to riot.
When anger fills your every waking hour
And simple thoughts and words turns sour
In your heart there’s no room for her
You wish things back to how they were.
When the north wind blows and the rain pours down
And all around this seedy town
The lights are on, but no ones home
There’s no colour, just monochrome.
When the beauty in her texts turns to tears
And drowns out all your yesteryears
Did you notice her slip away?
Hurt by silence, day after day.
